According to Kristin Kassner’s publicly available campaign-finance records, approximately 64.5% of her itemized campaign contributions through July 30, 2026 came from outside the Second Essex District, totaling $23,181 of $35,951.

Those contributions include at least $4,100 from real-estate and development interests and $3,250 from lobbying and public-affairs professionals. Recent contributions include checks from the Massachusetts Association of Realtors PAC and the Greater Boston Real Estate Board PAC, an organization that supports candidates viewed as favorable to the real-estate industry.

Her campaign also received $1,500 combined from the developer and project attorney associated with the proposed 395-unit Rowley Farms Chapter 40B Development, a major project currently affecting residents of this district.

Campaign contributions alone do not prove that a public official provided favorable treatment or changed a vote. But when nearly two-thirds of a representative’s itemized campaign funding comes from outside the district, including significant support from developers, real-estate political committees, lobbyists, and public-affairs professionals, voters have a right to ask whose voices have the greatest access and influence.

Local voters deserve transparency about the financial and professional interests supporting their representative.
